History Interactive!

Kari Gordon & Nicola Brooks

Make history more fun! Consolidate learning in the primary history curriculum and raise levels of motivation, enthusiasm, engagement and achievement with these animated, interactive history activities.

Curriculum-Linked Interactive History Games for Whiteboard and PC

Animations, sound effects, realistic and colourful images bring historical figures to life and get children thinking about what the past was really like.

Accompanied by comprehensive teaching notes, the LCP History Interactive! games are designed to suit children of all abilities and are split into differentiated levels to make learning effortless for the whole class.

The activities use a simple drag-and-drop format that children will find easy and straightforward to use. There is a variety of innovative games, quizzes, historical puzzles, sorting activities, timelines, mazes and much more, which engage children as active participants, enhancing and extending their learning in an interactive and enjoyable way. Instructions for each game appear on screen and are read aloud, and they are accompanied by photographs and illustrations of historical artefacts.

The games are all linked to the QCA Scheme of Work for History. Teacher’s notes, which accompany each game, include key enquiry statements, learning objectives and outcomes, aims of the game, differentiation and useful website links.

Adobe Flashplayer is required to run the activities, Adobe Reader 5 or higher (to read the PDFs): Both are available free from www.adobe.com in the downloads section.
