Reading Pictures: Writing Stories

Looking to inspire story writing with your KS1 pupils?  Need a teaching resource that will bring storytelling to life for them?  

Reading Pictures, Writing Stories offers a visual way of teaching literacy by using thought-provoking images to engage pupils, capture their imagination and encourage reading and writing.

The package comprises: 

• A Teacher’s Book featuring teaching and learning plans for KS1 - Years 1 and 2 - plus a sequence of work and supporting activity sheets.
   
• A CD featuring a series of thought-provoking photographs and texts, designed to give children the inspiration and the confidence to produce their own creative story writing. This also provides a great way of integrating simple ICT into literacy work.

All of the lesson plans link to APP (Assessing Pupil Progress) so that teachers are aware of how the teaching and learning relates to the assessment focus for reading and writing.
