“LCP's ICT Focus Weeks CD provide interesting activities that any teacher can deliver, even if they're not a tech-head and takes into account the limited computer resources at most schools.”- Marc Bowen writing for Teach Primary Vol. 2.2 (Feb. 2008)
School focus weeks are a great way of concentrating your pupils' minds, but setting up and organising one can be a mammoth task.
Our ICT Focus Weeks CDs are subject-focused, cross-curricular resources that will help teachers to run creative and engaging focus weeks for pupils from Foundation Stage right up to Year 6, while linking with other curriculum areas such as art, design, technology and history. Great value when you compare the cost of bringing-in additional staff to run an event.
There are two CDs are available: one for KS1 & one for KS1. Both CDs show how ICT skills can be embedded across the curriculum, without teachers having to invent contexts for ICT learning.
The varied and exciting activities on the CDs include:
- Making stop-go animations.
-
Filming an exhilarating event.
-
Using robots to solve problems imaginatively.
-
Taking digital photos of inspiring objects.
Both of the ICT Focus Weeks CDs include:
- An introduction for the focus week co-ordinator.
- An explanatory presentation for the co-ordinator to deliver to other staff members.
- Comprehensive lesson plans containing structured yet innovative activities.
- Suggested timetables, letter templates, pupil evaluation sheets.
- Self-evaluation sheets for pupils, which can be completed at home.
There is an editable version of the planning and teaching materials in Microsoft® Word, and a site licence is included in the price.
