ArtyMaths combines kinaesthetic and visual teaching techniques to enhance children’s learning of maths, and to create a stimulating numeracy environment in your classroom and school.

ArtyMaths is a new hands-on approach that will make maths accessible to all children. Fully linked to the National Numeracy Strategy for Key Stage 2, it replaces working on paper with problems that are physically constructed and can be physically solved. And while children are consolidating their mathematical knowledge and having fun, they are creating eye-catching displays that serve as physical reminders of the mental processes that were involved.

LCP ArtyMaths features a ring binder containing 12 ArtyMaths lessons. These can be taught as half-day workshops. Each lesson has photocopiable activity sheets to reinforce the ArtyMaths learning, and a children’s evaluation sheet, which will help you assess how well the children have understood the lesson. There is an accompanying CD with photographic examples of all the displays that the children will make during their ArtyMaths workshops. It also has an editable version of the whole file, in Microsoft® Word, allowing you to customise it to suit the need of your school. A site licence is included in the price.

ArtyMaths is particularly good for improving children’s estimation skills and sense of proportion, and learning is reinforced by activity sheets for the children and extension activities for the more able.
