Managing Headteacher Workload CD

In a poll of heads and deputies, conducted by the TES, 63% of those who took part felt that the National Workload Agreement had done little to ease their hours, stress levels and overflowing in-trays. In fact, many stated that the agreement had, if anything, actually increased their workload.

Our Managing Headteacher Workload CD aims to make headteachers and deputy heads' lives easier by reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the most important school management systems, thereby streamlining their workload.

Using a systematic approach, the CD looks at 41 common school management systems, with each system being based on a checklist as outlined below:

• System Plan flowchart
• Support Material
• Personnel
• Policy
• Inform
• Funding
• Training
• Handbooks
• Safe Operating System

Each checklist includes recommendations as to what should be in place to make that system effective. A selection of support material is also provided and identified on each checklist.

As with many of our management resources, all the material on the CD can be customised to fit the requirements of any school.
