This practical workshop and INSET Training Programme, Personal Effectiveness: Developing High Performing Individuals in Schools on CD, looks at personal effectiveness from four perspectives:
• goal setting
• time management
• dealing with colleagues
• health and wellbeing.
The workshop will equip you with the skills and techniques to be more effective in these areas, whether you are employed in a teaching or support capacity. Moreover, the workshop is constructed within the context of the teachers’ working time directive and the best use of planning, preparation and assessment time.
Personal Effectiveness: Developing High Performing Individuals in Schools on CD will also:
- enable you to set personal goals linked to those of your school and the means of achieving them
- examine time management and introduce simple techniques that will enable you to manage your time competently and prioritise more effectively
- look at the principles of teamworking, negotiating and achieving workable compromises when needs and wants conflict
- look at different character types and how best to deal with them.
The style of the workshop is informal and down-to-earth and stresses the need for a healthy work-life balance and how to achieve it.
Collectively workshop delegates will examine the key elements and palpable benefits of a healthy lifestyle both inside and outside school and, more importantly, come up with practical solutions to address the most common concerns that impede staff wellbeing.
The main emphasis will be to determine practical solutions to pressing problems and identify what you and your school do well and less well and address those areas that could be improved – whether personal to yourself or common to the school as a whole.
