This booklet gives headteachers and school leaders 100 top tips to help them get the 2013/2014 academic year right.
This is based on an analysis of over 250 New Ofsted Framework reports and trending issues, which have been signalled in various ways as being important for the 2013/14 school year by the DFE, Ofsted, the media and a range of educational commentators and consultants.
The resources uses the principles of reverse engineering by looking at the reports first and then working back to identify the range of solutions schools will need to seek out in order to achieve the best possible Ofsted judgement.
There are ten lists, each list focusing on ten areas for improvement, making 100 tips in total.
The booklet acts as a quick guide for headteachers and school leaders on the vital things they need to know for 2014. This can be used as a checklist or a guide to improving certain features.
The main benefits of the resource are the summary sheets which can be used immediately, and background material which can be drawn upon if required. The background notes can be easily translated into training programmes, areas of inquiry and analysis. They might also help with areas of focus in self-evaluation and topics for the school improvement plan.
